Privacy Policy

Members should be aware that contributed information becomes the sole property of the Los Angeles Fire Department. However, since the Los Angeles Fire Department Information Portal (the site) is currently external to the City firewall, information on the site is exposed to users of the Internet who are not members of the LAFD or other City employees.

As a result, information of a personal nature should NOT be posted. Further, posters should assume that all information contributed to this site may be viewed by members of the LAFD, other City agencies, and the public. When the server for this site is brought inside the City's firewall, the security of posted information can be addressed. Until then, users should assume that everyone can, and will, look at information they post. In other words, feel free to share, but keep your personal information, and the personal information of other members, to yourself.

If, at any time, there is a question about the appropriateness of posting information, users should consult with Tactical Planning prior to such posting. As much as possible, this site is intended to enhance the conduct of business of the LAFD. However, posters are individually responsible for the things that they post. To the extent possible, the system operators will perform the function of editors to preserver the integrity of information on this site.
